Wonderful speech.
America cannot remain a strong developed nation if we do not become energy independent. Conservatives often preach personal responbility … it’s time for our nation to be responsible for our own energy, instead of using resources from foreign nations that may pose threats to our security.

I was not a fan of Al Gore during his vice presidency however I now truly believe he has hit the nail right on the head. We need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. This will solve most of our problems in America today.

Universities exist on government funding.
Universities are MANDATED by the federal government to promote certain curriculums. ie: Global warming. If they don’t the funding gets reduced. thats a known fact!

Anyone else notice that in this 2008 speech Gore says we have 10 years before irreparable harm is done to the planet, but he gave the same time frame in his 2006 film “An Inconvenient Truth?” I wonder how many years we’ll have 10 years from now.

if we want to save anything of value on this planet we need to work near home, change our lawns to food, turn off those lights that burn day and night, get plastic out of the waste stream, and stop killing trees in the name of jesus. cars still kill animals, even electric cars. bicycles are less likeley to cause road kill. there’s about fifty other threats to life we need to deal with. we in deep doo doo but we could doo it. not likeley at this time though
