as a matter of fact. I am a controls technician and I have a siemens MEC automation controller that can be programed to do pretty much anything. It could easily control a fresnel turbogenerator type of unit. If there was a type of photocell on the market that was particularly sensitive you could easily program the controler to track the sun using a motorized actuator, basically sit the whole unit on a swivel and let the contoler keep it aimed at the sun.

you could turn that into a turbogenerator pretty easily. wire the generator to a rack of batteries and it could easily power your home. not to mention free hot water off the turbine’s condenser. the only issue I see is tracking the sun. There must be some kind of sensor control for that. if I was building that thing, I’d put DDC automation in it along with safety controls in case of overheating, etc. if somebody could build a residential backyard unit they would be millionaires very quickly.

Good to know.
Also watched your viddy on a “trough” mirror focused on a pipe, great stuff, lots to think about.
Thanks!

Yes, you also do not need to focus the spot so tight. It works better with a wider spot for heating liquid as the heat is distributed more evenly.

So then making that pipe part of a closed heating system will maintain it’s usability.

If it is empty, it will eventually destroy the pipe. With water in it, the temperature can never get high enough.

Will that lens burn a hole through the pipe over time or not at all?

Hello, congratulations for the work … Keep it up!
I am in Brazil and I am very impressed with your videos!
I wonder if it would be possible to redirect the flow of heat through mirrors. Already this experience? What was the outcome? If we could redirect could even have another application, what do you think?
If you have not already, is the suggestion …

I’d like to see you screw a cap with a small hole in it onto the pipe.
